We are looking for a English teacher who has a teaching degree or Bachelor of Education that feels comfortable with teaching students 12-16 years of age in an international work environment at IES School. 

As a person you are flexible, a dedicated team player, and have a positive approach to your subject. You are creative and willing to go the extra mile for your colleagues and students. You have the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom, and your clear leadership and teaching style are the key to your students' success. You can differentiate your teaching to reach all students, and work inclusively with different special needs students in cooperation with our Student Care Team and special educators. Continuous feedback to students and parents with updates on progress and needs for improvement is essential to the role, and should be a natural part of your teaching. 

Included in the role, aside from tasks such as planning, teaching, and marking, is mentorship for 16 students in one of your teaching classes. As a mentor you are obliged to contact the guardians at least once a month, with individual feedback about their child’s social and academic development at school. You have to be available for meetings with parents, students or colleagues, and must actively work towards maintaining the IES ethos and vision. Teaching at IES Södertälje requires clear classroom management and visible leadership during lessons, as well as open communication between teacher and students. The focus in our school is on maintaining a calm environment for learning, and the school's rules and routines are followed by students and staff alike.
