The subject is taught in accordance with the Swedish curriculum, entirely in English by a native English speaker as per IES standards and ethos.

IES Hässelby Strand was the 19th school to open in Sweden as part of the Internationella Engelska Skolan organisation. Since its opening in 2011 the school has grown to accommodate years 4 through 9, with a student body of just under 600 students and 50 staff members.
