THE POSITION


As a Team Lead and Senior Developer with Viaplay Client backend  you will be part of a team who's main responsibility is to collect information from various internal and external systems and present them in a customized fashion that suits the needs of each of Viaplays various clients. Viaplay has an impressive set of premium content rights, covering sports, such as Premier League, Champions League as well as movies and series. You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital media, growing the platform to meet the challenges of a continuously growing user base. Your engagement will shape the future of our service as youll be involved in defining the cutting edge for video on demand.

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD


You will be working in a team of developers responsible for delivering business-critical micro-services to all Viaplay platform clients by continuously adding functionality to our system, while improving existing features. As our teams are cross-functional you will closely collaborate with people in other functions and some of your challenges will include:


• Microservice/Serverless architecture
• Using multiple programming paradigms and languages
• Flexible production environment supported by Docker hosted in the Amazon Cloud
• An agile development process where we promote code reviewing and pair/mob programming

Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:


• A burning interest of driving the Agile process within the development team
• Professional experience developing web-based services using Node.js
• Understanding of test- or behavior-driven development (TDD/BDD) including supporting frameworks
• Experience in developing services in the cloud, preferably AWS




Bonus requirements that will make you stand out from the rest:


• Experience working with high traffic, highly scalable end user product
