Technical Analyst / System Release Developer

Ascade, the global market leader in telecom software for trading and testing of international telecom network traffic, is looking for Technical Analysts / System Release Developers to join our Support department.Ascade AB is a Swedish, independent telecom Software Company focused on creating integrated solutions for the telecom industry.We work with large telecom operators around the globe and our product, Carrier CockpitT, is the leading system for trading of international telephone calls.The Position The position will, depending on your abilities and interests, either be a 1st to 2nd line support role (Technical Analyst) or a 2nd to 3rd line support role (System Release Developer). Technical Analyst You'll be technically responsible for one or several customers, building long term, close relationships with the customers' system owner and technical staff.The role includes continuous international customer interaction (by phone, e-mail and meetings) but the majority of the time is spent on deep technical analysis.The job is very far from asking the customer to check the cables and then reboot the system.System Release Developer You'll be part of our Customer Release Responsibility team.The team manages our releases and works closely together with the Technical Analysts as well as the R&D team to further develop and enhance our releases.All development is closely driven by Customer requirements.You'll be in charge of a highly sophisticated and complex multi tiered, multi server system using databases from both Oracle and Microsoft.Business logic is developed in the .NET architecture.Required Background and Personality The roles require excellent analytical skills, as well as capability of rapidly reaching a high competence level within all areas of the product, both the functionality and the code structure.You must appreciate analyzing complex problems, explaining and discussing them with colleagues.From a technical perspective, knowledge and experience from the following is a merit: .SQL development (Both Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL Server) .MS .NET framework, VB .NET, VB6 and Java .Oracle Database Administration .MS SQL Server Administration .MS Analysis Services and Reporting Services (including development of DTS-functionality and Reporting Services-reports in MS Visual Studio) .Windows Server 2000 and 2003 We think that your personality makes you: .Like technical problems and solving them.That you see and like the challenge..Have good analytical skills.That you understand how to circle in on possible error causes in a structured and logical way, before you focus on the details..Be service minded and like explaining things.You are a skilled technician, but you realize that your skills in explaining are almost as important to the customer as your ability to solve technical problems.English is official company language.Since we have customers all over the world, skills in other languages such as French, Italian, German, Spanish, Arabic etc is meriting.Application The application should include at least an introduction/application letter and a resume/CV.Diplomas, grades and references can be supplied later in the process.We would like to have your application by 2007-10-25 (The recruitment process is on-going and the position might be filled before this date.
