Technical Director - Toca Days

Arbetsbeskrivning

Do you want to help a team and organization create their first live product? Are you a technical visionary who knows how to inspire and mentor a development team? Does scalable infrastructure, slick game features and strategic roadmaps excite you?

As a Tech Director you’ll be joining our most ambitious project yet - Toca Days, a friendly multiplayer world for children celebrating the excitement and quirkiness of everyday life. A 3D world where kids will be able to play and explore in real time through their own avatar.

You’ll be the one to make sure that our tech teams are unified, that our processes are smooth, and that we end up with a robust, scalable live platform.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll own the technical vision and set the strategic direction for Toca Days’s technical platform. But you won't be alone, you will collaborate with tech leads and architects in setting this up. Toca Days is in an early phase and you will have a major part in shaping it. We have release processes to streamline, a growing tech team and many decisions to make. You will encourage knowledge sharing, mentor our technical leads and help make Toca Boca an even better employer for developers.

You’ll support the team by ensuring sustainable development processes and workflows. By your side will be a small team of lead developers, who you will coach to make autonomous decisions within the tech direction, and of course the development team as a whole.

You’ll work closely together with Ali, our Lead Producer, in setting the roadmap, recruitment etc.

You’ll be the one to assess if we have the technical capabilities to create the features we want to create and the cost for those. You’ll be responsible for technical reporting and stakeholder metrics.
Is this you?
You have experience working in technical leadership roles and have lots of experience from the game industry. You have previously worked as a developer and you know what great system architecture looks like, especially in live games

You have worked with, and shipped, multiple multiplayer games with client server architecture or worked with the matchmaking backend infrastructure of games with a huge player base.
You have experience with Unity, or other game engines, and understand them on a high level.

You’re excited about creating the next big digital playground for kids around the world. You believe in the power of play!
