Sandvik Group Functions IT provides Sandvik’s various business areas with IT infrastructure, systems and business-critical solutions. Together, we manage several system deliveries and customer requests within IT, and we work closely with our customers to ensure satisfaction with our services. To raise the bar for the delivery related to our new ServiceNow platform, we’re now looking for a self-driven Technical System Administrator. Someone who makes sure everything around the platform is running as smooth as possible. As you might have guessed, this is an important role for the entire platform – and for the right person, it’s an opportunity to truly influence our ways of working.


About the job
You’re a big part of running and developing the ServiceNow platform in collaboration with your team and stakeholders within Sandvik’s different business areas. With a technical perspective, you take care of the delivery, maintenance and updates of the platform – for example testing new releases, making sure incidents are investigated and solved and handling demand requests from end users. To keep downtime as low as possible you plan and perform recovery procedures and ensure that backup is in place. You also monitor performance and batch processes along with workload modelling and capacity planning.
Apart from the maintenance tasks, you participate in development of the platform together with the system architects of the team. With the end user in mind, you work to optimize the functions, tools and services of the platform, as well as using predictive analysis to identify and resolve potential issues regarding security and performance. As it’s a new platform for us, you have a big opportunity to drive development and make a true impact.


Your background and character
To get a smooth start and to really thrive in this role, you need to have done a few years in an IT-related job and acquired a good understanding of IT architecture in general. Experience from the ServiceNow platform is advantageous. When it comes to education, you have a university degree within IT, or you’ve been working your way to equivalent knowledge. We’re a global player and because of that, good written and verbal English skills is needed, while Swedish is beneficial.
What really matters is your personal qualities. As some of your everyday activities need quick and independent decisions, you’re self-motivated and take ownership of your own responsibilities and tasks. Along with that, you have a sharp customer focus in your actions, ensuring satisfaction through everyday delivery and development. Great communication and collaboration skills help you a lot in your contact with everyone from end users to fellow IT professionals - and this is very important as you coordinate most of the activities related to the ServiceNow platform.
