We at are looking for a Technical Writer to our Marine & Ports business unit for R&D department in Västerås. We develop systems for supervision and control of automated container handling.


The success of our automation systems relies on skilled engineers adapting existing technology like lidar and vision sensors to the harsh marine environment in a container terminal. In this important role, as a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for the technical documentation of our products. Example of documentation are manuals for service, installation and maintenance. You will work closely together with our engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.


As a Technical Writer, you will have a job that includes responsibility, variation, problem solving, technical challenges, a highly skilled team, and an exciting international workplace where sustainability and digitalization are in focus. Your responsibilities
Attend customer meetings to ensure that requirements are met.
Attend internal meetings for feedback and reporting.
Contact system engineering for clarification or missing information and follow up the progress.
Participate in workshops.
Attend site visits to research the systems physically.
Write technical text in Framemaker and Word for technical descriptions, maintenance instructions, service notes etc.
Review, update technical documentation.
Proofread documents written.
Create and update illustrations.
Administrate and update revision.
Support the team in accordance with the tasks handed by the Documentation leader.
Proofread other writers’ documents.



Your background
A degree in technical documentation or relevant work experience.
A technical interest and design knowledge.
Knowledge in Automation and or Mechanical engineering is meritorious.
Several years of work experience are meritorious, but you can also be a recent graduate with high ambition, ready to take on a real challenge.
You are independent and can lead both yourself and others towards set goals.
Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken alike, is required as you will be working in a global multicultural environment. Other language skills are meritorious.
Knowledge in production and manufacturing is meritorious.
