The Application Development Techniques team (ADT) is part of the Mainframe Global Shared Service delivery within HCL, delivering Mainframe infrastructure to customers worldwide.
We are now looking for an experienced Technical/Methods Specialist for the Mainframe.
Job Description-
ADT team works with tools and products close to the application developers and maintenance personnel most often located at the customer side. As a Technical Specialist you will participate in installation and configuration of a number of different tools used by developers in the mainframe (z/OS) environment. We have a broad product portfolio, some examples are IBM Fault Analyzer, IBM File Manager, CA Endevor Change Manager etc.
The team is responsible for the Life Cycle Management for the products.
We see that you have a curious mindset and willingness to do investigations thorough that are needed for problem determination. The team is the last support team in the support chain.
The team is also working with development, enhancement, maintenance and support/coaching of methods and tools to support the application development area for different customers.
As a member of the ADT team you will take part in daily huddles and other mandatory meetings to be assigned both run-time and one-time tasks and activities. The team is today located mainly in Gothenburg, Sweden and you will be part of building up the team at your site. You will work according to our global processes and way of working. You will be responsible for one or several products that you will handle, both regarding installation and problem determination. You will be in close cooperation both with technician at the customer side, your colleagues in the team as well as vendors and users.
In your role you will be requested to:
Primary
o Handle Incident, Change and Problem resolution
o Manage contact with the vendors regarding support cases
o Implement and configure products in our environment
o Participate in internal and external projects and assignments
o Offer user support
Secondary
o Promote, deploy and support/coach the use of processes, methods and tools for project and maintenance teams at Customer's.
o Deliver services such as training courses, workshops, reviews and so on, for processes, methods and tools in the mainframe area
o Contribute to internal and external conferences
The Technical/Methods Specialist reports to the local HR manager as well as to the Track Lead and Functional Manager of the Mainframe competence area.
Qualifications:
Primary skills
o University degree in Computer Science or equivalent
o General and broad z/OS knowledge
o Great knowledge in the TSO/ISPF environment; CLIST, REXX, PANELS etc.
o Documented experience of application development in the mainframe environment, particularly Endevor, COBOL, CICS, IMS and DB2
o Knowledge about methods and techniques within the mainframe area are a merit
It is an advantage if you also have skills in
o USS

o Social competence and should be good at expanding and maintaining personal/business networks
