Test and Development Engineer - Transmission Engineering

Powertrain Engineering is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. The transmission team is responsible for the development of new global transmissions from the early concept phase to industrialization. These transmissions will be the main technology for the Geely group. The development is carried out by several parties inside Geely group as well as by external contractors.

We are looking for transmission test and development engineers for activities in vehicle as well as on bench. With proven experience of test and development activities you will be part of a global team focusing on testing of transmissions and electrical propulsion systems. The activities range from detailed advanced component performance investigations and measurements to standard vehicle system testing, both functional and durability testing. Special focus on problem root cause investigations, test procedure development and validating simulation models.

Responsibilities and tasks

Perform vehicle tests, both standard tests and problem root cause investigation. Develop new test procedures and methods for vehicle and bench testing. Together with simulation and calculation engineers develop special methods for validating virtual models and algorithms. Have the overall responsibility for your own test activities including planning, resource allocation and execution. Inspect and analyse parts and data after test and issue test report. Assist other parties within Geely group and external contractors in test activities, even on-site.

Requirements

Experience of automotive testing, car and/or bench tests. Being capable and comfortable to independently plan daily work Good knowledge of typical hardware and software test data measurement systems. Valid driver’s licence Interest in both theoretical discussions and hardware hands-on work. Experience of analysing typical hardware failure modes Experience from work on electrical systems and electronics is an advantage. Fluent in English. Engineering degree at minimum Bachelor level. Well accustomed to Chinese culture is an advantage.
