The Test Automation Lead is member of the Automation Chapter, an organization unit within the SAFe/DevSecOps based organization of Ikano Bank Digital. The Chapter is responsible for guidelines, best practice and guiding activities for setting up environments, tool chains and strategies applied on the Ikano architectural landscape.

The Test Automation Lead is responsible for supporting the automation testing, feasibility studies, and the definition of the automation framework. You will work closely with our QA Automation team who collaborates continuously with the business testers; hence the focus is highly business oriented. Further on you will support the QA Automation team in their test strategy approach considering automation and applying the framework required based on need and technique.

You will be interacting with the team of Integration test engineers, to support and guide as well as ensuring that they are following the automation guiding principles.

The Test Automation Lead is follows up the quality level of the automation test scripts delivered from the System team, Agile Release Train (ART) as well as squads so that they are well prepared and implemented into the CI/CD pipeline. Part of the role is also to safeguard the Integration test engineers by handling events and perform some business coordination to align with the ART to perform business validation on delivered features.

You will be working in a high intensity, creative and adaptable environment. You will be responsible for planning, designing and troubleshooting through all test layers of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The Test Automation Lead is responsible for working with all application teams to facilitate the delivery needs of the program.

As part of the role the Test Automation Lead you will lead other test engineers, negotiate scope, monitoring metrics and provide daily guidance to the teams.

The Test Automation Lead is part of the Automation Chapter in the central Ikano Development organization consisting of a total of 50+ co-workers, and therefore you may be working on one or more simultaneous initiatives across the location within the bank.

You will be expected to take an active role in driving the test and quality related activities around the business deliveries throughout the development lifecycle E2E.

Professional skills

• Familiar with a variety of testing techniques, concepts, practices, and procedures
• At least 3 recent years in leading the development of automation framework and automation (integration) test scripts
• Vast knowledge of automation testing techniques to cover corner cases with automation, QA E2E
• Reviews and provides input to requirements/design documents
• Experienced in monitoring of the software quality KPIs
• Open-minded, should be able to adapt to working in a multi-cultural team atmosphere

Qualifications

• BS/BA or equivalent experience, in computer science, mathematics, or engineering or a mathematics intensive discipline
• ISTQB certificate
• REQB Certificate is a plus
• Familiar with the SAFe and DevSecOps framework is a plus, certification is an advantage
• Experience from public cloud (AWS, Azure and/or Google cloud), Microservice based architecture and Kafka based architecture
• Automation framework implementation
• Being part of a transformation journey is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years’ prior software testing experience, preferably in a large enterprise organization conducting GUI, backend testing and System Integration testing (SIT)
• Drive triage meetings and ensure actions are being taken upon need.
• Bank, Finance or similar industry with a high degree of documentation requirements
• Estimating test effort, designing approach and identifying risks

Key competencies

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills to be able to handle multiple projects and tasks
• Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, roles, and work in an agile environment
• Strong technical skills and understanding of database structures and infrastructure elements on system and system integration level.
• Flexible to contribute to several initiatives/release trains in parallel, and to adapt to eco-system constraints
