Who we are and what we offer
Wind Tunnel Lab performs tests in the climatic wind tunnel CWT1 (PVKA), upcoming CWT2 (PVKV) and, the aerodynamic wind tunnel AWT (PVT). On complete vehicle we conduct various test conditions that simulate real driving conditions. Our business is mainly driven by complete vehicle test ordered by R&D.
We are today 20 dedicated employees and our department Wind Tunnel Lab is now looking for an engaged and knowledgeable test engineer to join the team. The work includes development, verification testing according to test methods and requirements. Your mainly work will be to operate one of our wind tunnels.
What you’ll do
As a test engineer you will, together with the tunnel technician, daily operate the Wind Tunnel to supply the testing colleague with data according to predefined test programs. You will provide the colleague with support, advice and facilitate the testing. You will perform troubleshooting, report problems, and verify measures. You will be responsible for correct usage of the facility and test equipment and, perform daily control of the facility systems and test object.
In this role you will attend meetings and perform actions regarding issues together with the group manager. You will be responsible for control of test objects and reporting improvements after tests. Working with improvements for methods and instructions within the group, the facilities and the section is also a part of this role.
For this position there will be unregular working hours where evening shifts and work during weekends will occur.
You and your skills
To succeed in this role, we believe that you have a technical degree from upper secondary school or good technical experience gained from earlier positions. You have experience from work in wind tunnels or equal facilities and you like working with technical and measurement equipment. Being fluent in English, both written and verbal, is a requirement and so is having a drivers license (B-level). Having good knowledge of Volvo Cars brand, our customers and product portfolio and also knowledge in Software read-out and download is seen as meritorious for this position. So is experience from service and maintenance.
On a personal level we believe that you will thrive in this position if you have a genuine passion and interest in the automotive industry. You are self-motivated and take your own initiatives but at the same time, you also enjoy working in teams and build collaborative relations by good communication.
