The English Shop is a family run business with shops in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Both shops are busy and lively and have a loyal customer base that expects the best in customer service. Manager, Maternity Cover We are looking to recruit a Manager for our Gothenburg shop, for a period of 12-18 months whilst the current Manager is on maternity leave. The post is full-time (40 hours a week) and includes weekend work. Applicants must have management and buying experience. The post requires the following: Skills, knowledge and experience: .Management experience .Buying experience an advantage .Experience of working in a shop, preferably a food or book shop .English as mother-tongue, confident Swedish .Experience of cash registers and cashing up an advantage .Knowledge of English food and drink, and a general interest in food .Enthusiasm for English literature - particularly teenage and childrens' fiction .Sound organisational skills Your role will include: .Managing a small team of staff .Serving customers and helping with enquiries .Placing orders to a number of suppliers .Ensuring the shop is well-stocked .Keeping the shop clean and tidy .Setting priorities and tasks .Dealing with deliveries, checking delivery notes and invoices .Cashing up on a daily basis and banking money 3 months probation period.
