The mission of the Trade and Customs Compliance Officer (TCO) is to support the business management in Electrification business area to ensure that all business processes are aligned with ABB trade and customs policies and guidelines, as well as to provide the business colleagues with hands-on guidance in complying with trade related requirements and in pursuing strategic trade objectives. TCO is a single point of contact for export control, sanctions and customs related matters towards our warehouses and relevant authorities. The responsibility covers both daily trade and customs operations as well as development and implementation of trade related initiatives supporting the business. The mission of the Product Classification Engineer (PCE) is to perform classification, including proper documentation, of all products and spare parts in the unit according to the customs classification EU regulation as well as to perform classification of all products/spareparts, software and technology in the unit according to the EU dual-use regulation and US commerce control list.

This role reports to Planning & Fulfillment Manager and is a part of the ABB trade compliance community led by the Country Trade Compliance Manager.


Your responsibilities
Provide the business managers and organization periodic updates regarding customs, export control & sanction laws/regulations
Inform and educate the business regarding existing written procedures and guidelines for customs and export control compliance requirements
Review, analyze and act on order blocks related to export control and sanctions in Trade system used by ABB (SAP GTS=SAP global Trade System)
Efficient Master Data handling in SAP ECC and SAP GTS together with the Master Data responsible regarding Export Control and Sanctions. Participate in tests and implement changes in the SAP GTS system when required.
Perform Critical Assessment of export businesses in terms of product, country, customer, end-user and end-use restrictions
Initiate the application to the appropriate government agencies for any required export control licenses/authorizations and customs authorizations
Execution of trade reviews/audits and/or conduct “self-audits” of trade compliance. Ensure that trade compliance records are maintained for a period that satisfies legal requirements
With the help of technical product experts, perform customs and export control classification on all products, spare parts, software and technology including proper documentation
Participate in relevant classification trainings as required
Ensure that trade compliance targets are achieved

Your background
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferable
Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, risk management and logistics
Knowledge of export controls & sanctions is preferable and also knowledge of customs rules and regulations are highly relevant
Knowledge in classification (customs and export control) is highly relevant
Ability and willingness to learn
Manage assignments with limited direct supervision
Sufficient seniority to effectively communicate across all levels of the business
Business mindset, responsiveness, strong sense of ownership, sense of details, self-drive personality and willingness to explore
Team player with good communication skills, capable of communicating in English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing
Helpful, not mandatory; Certified Export Control Manager trained at Exportkontrollföreningen
Helpful, not mandatory: basic technical knowledge of safety products and low voltage products
Helpful, not mandatory: Office 365 and SAP/SAP GTS knowledge
