Arbetsbeskrivning

Two Ph.D.Student positions in "Activity and stability of nano- materials " at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.Description of project These two projects will be positioned at Chemical Reaction Engineering (KRT) and Competence Centre for Catalysis (KCK).The objective is to investigate the activity and stability of nano-materials, applied on materials for emission cleaning. The systems investigated have high relevance for the industry. The projects contain both an experimental part and a modelling part.Catalysts should be prepared and characterized thoroughly and at KCK we have a broad experimental toolbox for this.Further, flow reactor experiments will be used to detect the activity and selectivity of the catalysts during different reaction conditions.Micro-calorimetry will be used to measure the heat of adsorption. The results from these experiments will be used as a base for developing detailed kinetic models for the systems. Also the methodology for detailed kinetic modelling will be further developed in this project. The projects are funded from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.Job descrition The positions are placed at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology. The period of service as a Ph.D. student is maximum four years plus maximum one year undergraduate teaching divided throughout the whole period of service. Required qualifications A suitable background is Master of Science (Swedish: civilingenjör) in Chemical engineering or Chemical Engineering with Physics, specifically with interest in catalysis and mathematical modelling.
