The Unit of Research & Translational Science’s main focus is early development of biopharmaceuticals. Protein Engineering is a newly formed department in the Research & Translational Science unit. The department is responsible for engineering, generation & optimisation of lead biological molecules. Sobi is offering a laboratory scientist position in a progress oriented organization where everyone is engaged in making a better life for patients suffering from rare disease. As a Protein Biochemistry Scientist in the Protein Engineering department you will develop, refine and execute laboratory methods in the field of protein purification and biophysical characterization. You will work on projects in the discovery research and preclinical phases of development through focused cutting edge practical laboratory work.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• To actively participate in multifunctional project teams.
• To generate, evaluate and interpret data within your expert field.
• Employ and test new techniques & technologies within your expert field.
• Establish relevant reports and documents or parts of documentation as required at different stages of projects.
• Participate in seamless internal transfer of methods to further process development of the generated biological prototypes.
• Take responsibility for laboratory and equipment according to agreed standards.
• Collaborate within the project team.





Qualifications:

• MSc or PhD in biochemistry protein engineering or relevant discipline.
• 2 years or more in academic or industrial life science laboratory setting within the protein biochemistry field.
• High level of practical and theoretical experience/knowledge in protein biochemistry, purification and biophysical characterization.
• Experience of method development.
• Knowledge of data evaluation programs.
• Experience of report writing.
• Fluent in both oral and written English. Swedish fluency is a merit.
