UAS Safety and Airworthiness Manager

Responsibilities

- Be a Safety advocate, demonstrate excellent safety behavior and attitude, follow, promote, and support adherence to internal safety and regulatory practices and rules
- Responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the Safety Management System
- Facilitates Hazard identification, risk analysis, management and monitoring of the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks according to the safety action plan
- Measure safety performance and provide related periodic safety reports
- Initiate and lead internal occurrence/accident and/or safety investigations
- Ensure availability and ensure validity/re-occurrence on safety management training for all affected staff
- Focal Point of Contact for all safety matters including support and guidance for the appointed Flight Safety Officers
- Plan, implement and control the processes needed to assure product safety during the entire product life cycle
- Support in defining and maintaining safety critical items in close cooperation with related departments (e.g., Design and Development, Quality Management, etc.)
- Advising and supporting Safety Case Impact of Design Changes
- Provide safety and airworthiness support to internal and external stakeholders


Qualifications

- University degree in aerospace engineering or other relevant engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the regulated aerospace sector, preferably with aviation safety management experience
- Sound knowledge of applicable Aviation Legislation and ICAO Annexes
- Experience in the unmanned, autonomous vehicle or helicopter industry is an asset
- Self-starter, team player, analytical mindset, with a clear, concise and to-the-point style of communication
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
