UCG 031604 Network/Linux Technician

UCG/Radio Support is a consulting company based in Kista in northern Stockholm. Regardless placement you will be employed by UCG, with Swedish salary and benifits.
The Consultant role
As a consultant you may be placed at different customers. UCG will assist with extra training when needed. As a consultant we need you to be flexible and to easily adapt to a new environment.
Education/training
Our roles requires a basic technical education, sometimes university level.
Experience
We require at least 3 years of relevant job experience for all roles, mostly more.
Required experience for this role:
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience of tasks listed below
• Deep knowledge of the Linux OS, Linux kernel, network stack, ethernet TCP/IP communication is required.
Working language: English
Meriting
• The middleware in use is called RTI DDS and it uses UDP unicast, UDP multicast and shared memory for data transport. DDS knowledge is extra meriting but not necessary.

About the job:
• Systematically analyse and troubleshoot the system middleware and network in vehicles and hardware rigs
• Establish a continuous dialogue with the middleware supplier providing feedbacks and request support
• Stress-test the system varying the amount of data volumes
• Tune the UDP-based communication stack for high performance
• Document and share the network configuration changes with the development teams
• Provide technical recommendations and support to the development teams
• Participate and support the engineers with in-vehicle integration tests
• During Covid, part of work can be done off-site
