User Research

Arbetsbeskrivning

Hi there, hey, hello!
We are Tibber, the energy company that wants you to use less energy. Whaaat? That’s right. We’ll get back to that. Yes, we are by definition an energy company, but we’re more techy than most. How and why you might ask. Well, a third of our employees are actually working on developing products and solutions that can help you use energy in a smarter way. Our main goal is to empower people, and to reduce the amount of energy being used unnecessarily all around the globe – with the help of cool fancy tech. Good for our customers, their wallets, and the planet.
Our growth rate has been truly amazing, and still, we’re just getting started. With hundreds of thousands of controllable and smart devices connected to the Tibber platform (like electric vehicles and smart thermostats), we have one of the most unique and flexible consumption portfolios trading energy and flexibility on the market.

About the job
A key part of product development is to understand the user and their wishes, needs and pains. At Tibber we strongly believe that we are building products for the end user and knowing them well is a critical part of product development, to help us make sure we are designing and building the right solutions.
We are looking for a user researcher to help and guide the product organization and our different product teams (squads) to make better and more informed decisions through qualitative research.

What you’ll do:
Focus on understanding user behaviors, needs and motivations through qualitative research methods.
Conduct research based on best practice methods (interviews, observation techniques, ethnographic studies) across all our platforms, products and markets.
Autonomously define, plan, conduct and analyze research projects.
Inspire and motivate product teams and stakeholders through insight presentations and alike.
Contribute to company-wide research strategy and explore new directions for the company.
Work closely with Analytics and Product Managers to define experiment hypotheses and support in research design.
Work closely with Product Designers and Industrial Designers and provide guidance and assistance with user tests and prototype testing.
Lead and organize workshops within product areas to help define research scopes and projects.

Who you are:
An inquisitive user researcher with 5+ years of experience preferably working with digital and physical products.
Able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of the techniques, tools, methods and working practices of qualitative research.
Passionate about being an ambassador for our users and sharing user insights within the company.
Skilled in developing visualization methods such as personas, user journeys and value proposition canvases, that can be used in specific projects or on a company wide level.
Familiar with, and have experience working with, quantitative research methods.
Comfortable with metrics, A/B tests and able to synthesize and combine both quantitative and qualitative data.
Comfortable in the field meeting users in their own environment on a regular basis.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Another language (German, Swedish, Norwegian & Dutch) is a plus.
Experience in UX Design and Service Design is a great addition.

The Tibber Mindset
Being on a mission to fundamentally change an industry also means being prepared for the unexpected. Tibber is a startup in the true sense of the word, which means we're on a journey of constant change ourselves. We work passionately with sustainability and a circular approach, both with our own products and in the entire ecosystem that is affected by everything we do. The well-known fact that all people are different, and far from everyone is a morning person – are the very reasons why we choose to work with flexible work hours.
Starting out with two passionate founders in 2016, we're now 180+ people working for Tibber in our offices in Stockholm, Førde, Berlin, Amsterdam and Helsinki, and with that very number growing each week, we’re still just getting started. Through 2022 we will expand to new markets, and we are thrilled to be backed by investors like Balderton Capital, Eight Roads Ventures, Founders Fund, and Schibsted.
Join our Tibber Tribe, it will be an adventure!
