Valve Steel Specialist

På uppdrag av Böhler Uddeholm Precision Strip i Munkfors The R & D Department at Böhler-Uddeholm Precision strip are looking for a highly skilled and creative Metallurgist who can help us to develop new products/solutions to customer challenges and novel manufacturing techniques. This role will be pivotal in our drive to cement our reputation as a world-leading manufacturer of quality precision strip products. The ideal candidate should have a sound background in steel Metallurgy that is based on a good level of qualification (Minimum Bachelors Degree) and significant hands on experience in the steel industry. In addition to the excellent metallurgical background, the candidate should have experience of dealing with customers both in a technical support role and in the handling of customer complaints. The role involves applying continuous improvement techniques and the candidate should also either have managerial experience or the potential to be developed into a senior managerial role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a pre-requisite, as are project management skills. The role involves working with flat products (cold rolled and hardened steel strip) mainly in high Carbon steel or Martensitic stainless steels. Therefore a knowledge of Martensitic steels, precision rolling and hardening would be an advantage, but training will be given to a candidate who otherwise has the right background and approach. The position will be based in Munkfors but the candidate will be expected to undertake international travel to visit customers, when necessary.
