Video QA Engineer- SKYPE

We are looking for a quality assurance (QA) engineer whose main task will be to ensure the high quality of our video library. The position involves working closely together with software developers and other QA engineers and requires a high degree of interdisciplinarity. While some of the work will be manual, you will implement, use and improve automated test systems whenever possible. Furthermore, you will setup and perform dedicated feature and release candidate testing and you will be an interface between bug reports and software developers. You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team working in an inspiring and challenging atmosphere. Responsibilities * Work closely with software developers and other departments to improve product quality * Design, execute and document test cases for Skype video stack on multiple desktop platforms (Windows, Mac) * Test the video components on a wide variety of hardware and computer setups * Build up, maintain and run automated and manual test environments for hardware and software compatibility and performance tests Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience * Knowledge of video processing and coding (relevant education or experience) * Knowledge about PC hardware such as harddisks, graphic cards, web cams etc. and their interaction * Knowledge of TCP/IP networks * Very good analytic skills * You are tech-savy yet can set yourself in end user's position * You are interested in learning new technologies * M.Sc. degree in EE/CS or equivalent Big plus if you have * Good knowledge in C/C++ * Knowledge of DirectShow APIs and/or Quicktime * Good knowledge in script languages such as Perl, Python and test automation experience * Experience of developing and testing under real time requirements * Good knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux) * Good knowledge of mobile device operating systems (Symbian, Windows Mobile, Linux Embedded) * Good knowledge of wireless networking (Wifi, WCDMA/UMTS, GPRS) * Experience with a defect tracking system (e.g. Bugzilla) Requirements that apply to all QA * Knowledge of QA and testing methodology and processes * Excellent trouble-shooting skills * Good technical, analytical and communication skills * Ability to prioritize multiple and diverse tasks * Manage your own time and tasks efficiently so that you meet the deadlines * A 'can-do' attitude and a serious desire to have an impact on changing the way people communicate * You don't tolerate mistakes and errors, you're pedant in a positive way * Very good command of English Location - Stockholm or Tallinn This assigment is carried out in cooperation with Linqsearch Talentor.
