Part-time, hourly paid position until March 2008
Salary: SEK 139 per hour

A part-time position as a Visa Clerk is open at the Canadian Embassy in Stockholm. Working hours are flexible and comprise on average 15 hrs per week up to a maximum of 700 hours over 46 weeks.

The appointment will commence on or around 15 May.

The staffing process will consist of a review of applications/CVs to ensure that applicants meet the essential qualifications listed below and a personal interview for a selected group of candidates. Reference checks may be carried out as needed.

Summary of duties

Under the supervision of the Immigration Officer provides clerical services and assists in case processing for the Nordic - Canadian Youth Mobility Programmes and other visa related issues.

Receiving application forms and checking them for completeness
. checking within the computer system for any previous record of the individual
. creating electronic files
. passing completed files to the decision making officer
. forwarding decisions to applicants
. maintaining statistics and preparing statistical reports on applications and requests received
. receiving telephone calls, visitors and correspondence and providing all necessary documents and forms upon request
. providing counselling and answering routine enquiries

Essential Qualifications

. Have an excellent command of oral and written Swedish, English and French
. Have strong interpersonal skills and be service oriented
. Have good experience with computers
. Be focussed on quality and details
