Warehouse Mgt. System Implementation Coordinator

Arbetsbeskrivning

Background: HomeEnter (HE) engaged the services of a U.K. software firm called Exact Abacus, Ltd. (EAL) for the purpose of developing a new computer system. The new system is called 3EX.NET and will be composed of several sub-systems supporting procurement, warehouse management, order fulfillment, customer service operations, and much more. The sub-system referred to as WMS (Warehouse Management System) will support all aspects of inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping for both HE warehouse locations - Åland, Finland and Szczecin, Poland. These two locations service several HE profit centers doing business in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Poland. The new WMS will be implemented in phases beginning this summer. Testing, change management, training, and implementation will all require a great deal of support from HE and EAL business and technical staffs. Tasks and Responsibilities: A new temporary (1 year) position has been defined for a person to: Learn and document all aspects of HE's current warehouse related operational procedures and policies and, through this process, become an HE warehouse Subject Matter Expert (SME). Work with both EAL's and HE's WMS teams to develop and document all future state (i.e. 3EX.NET driven) warehouse related operational procedures and policies. Assist both teams with all aspects of WMS testing (i.e. finding missing or incorrect functionality), change management (i.e. defining corrections for testing failures), and training including document translations (English to Polish), materials development, and staff instruction. Ensure complete SME knowledge transfer. Objectives: Ensure that both current and future state procedures and policies are sufficiently documented to adequately support all participants during the current to future state migration. Ensure that the new WMS fully and correctly supports HE's needs. Ensure that HE's staff is fully trained and prepared for both the short term but complex system transition period and the ongoing production operation of the new WMS. Experience, Skills, and Job Requirements: Two or more years of warehouse and logistics experience required, preferably in a business-to-consumer environment (e.g. direct mail industry). Must be conversant in common logistics industry terminology such as "pick location", "cycle count", "replenishment", "bulk stock", "putaway", and "manifesting". Experience with one or more WMS systems (SAP, Manhattan, LIS, DigitaLogistix) is not required, but would be extremely valuable. Must have sufficient academic or professional information technology experience to be conversant in common IT industry terminology such as "design specification", "process flow diagram", "LAN", "operating system", "client", and "server". Experience can include classes or work related to systems analysis, programming, desktop or networking support, barcode scanner or RF equipment support, or similar IT exposure. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills in both Polish and English. Swedish skills are not required, but would be very valuable. Norwegian, Danish, or Finnish skills also a plus. Must be willing to live in or near Szczecin, Poland and must also be willing to travel up to 30% (split between Chorley, UK, Malmö, Sweden, and Åland, Finland). Must be self motivated and self disciplined with a proven record of delivery with little or no direct supervision. Demonstrable academic excellence always a plus.
