Program Assistant and Translator in the Political and Economic Relations and Public Affairs (PERPA) Section, Embassy of Canada in Stockholm
Position title: Program Assistant and Translator
Starting Salary: 29 844 SEK / month.
The Embassy of Canada in Stockholm is seeking a qualified individual to fill the locally-engaged position of Program Assistant and Translator.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Head of Mission (HOM) and the Political Counsellor, co-ordinates corporate calls, government and other meetings for the HOM and the Political Counsellor.Organizes in-Sweden travel for the Political and Economic Relations and Public Affairs (PERPA) Section.Assists in arranging itineraries for visiting Canadian Ministers and senior officials.Assists in managing the schedule for the HOM and HOM spouse, and with the planning of representational functions such as official dinners, luncheons and receptions.Responsible for the HOM's and Counsellor's Swedish-language correspondence, which must be flawless and elegant.
Under the general supervision of the Political Counsellor, Provides program support for the PERPA Section and provides translation of official correspondence, media articles and other material from Swedish and occasionally into Swedish.Supports events planning and implementation as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Note: Failure to meet any of the essential requirements will eliminate candidates from further consideration in the competition
.Successful completion of a Gymnasium/Secondary school.
.Absolute fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
.A minimum of 3 years of work experience in an office environment or similar position, either in a government or private sector capacity.
.Project and hospitality events planning and organizational experience
.Budget management experience.
.Information management experience.
RATED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
.Sound knowledge of Sweden's political and cultural scene and infrastructure.
.Proven analytical and research skills.
.Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Swedish
.Proficient in the use of standard office suite applications (e.g.word processing, internet, e-mail, spreadsheet and database)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
.Ability to obtain the required security clearance.
