About us

SIS is going through an exciting stage in its history. In autumn 2023, the School will move into the Norra Latin building which, together with our existing site on Johannesgatan, will create an impressive campus in the heart of the dynamic city of Stockholm. Already the leading choice for the region’s globally mobile diplomatic, business, and research community, this new addition to the School will allow us to expand to meet increasing demand from parents and provide a modern teaching environment in landmark buildings of immense heritage.
Position summary
A people-facing role combining project coordination work primarily in events and communications, with support for the team and the Advancement Director in all aspects of advancement.
There are two Advancement Officers in the team working closely together and work is shared based both on workload and specific skill-sets and interests.
Key responsibilities
Act as either project lead or project support in delivering an annual programme of events and meetings designed to cultivate and/or steward the School’s key stakeholder groups. These include both events which are repeated every year and ad hoc meetings and conferences.
Develop and deliver an annual engagement plan of events and meetings to support the School’s strategic plan and advancement priorities.
Liaise with SIS Parent Community to support activities that build community spirit and achieve advancement goals within the school.
Build and manage a team of student ambassadors to support internal community events and activities.
Act as the first point of contact for alumni, handling enquiries and managing communications to the network. Assist the alumni groups who wish to arrange reunions on or off campus.
Contribute to the Advancement team content planning process, ensuring opportunities for promoting community events and activities are taken across all SIS channels. Attend weekly content meetings chaired by the Communications Officer.
Manage the SIS Shop (including ordering new products, keeping track of sales and stock levels, responsibility both for the web shop and pop-up sales)
Conduct tours for prospective parents during peak times.
Provide communications support for admissions colleagues to ensure a clear and welcoming family journey for prospective and current families.
Arrange open houses and mobility contact meetings.
Manage external hiring of campus facilities.
Keep up to date with professional best practice and promote best practice throughout the team and the School.

In addition to the above areas of responsibility the position may require other reasonable duties relating to the scope of the position. The post holder will at times be required to work outside of normal office hours and/or weekends. Additional duties as well as working outside of office hours should be authorised by the Advancement Director.
Qualifications, attributes and experience:
Educated to degree level in areas such as event management, communications, administration, project management or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Experience using a CRM and project management platforms.
International background or experience is desirable.
Excellent communication skills.
Very high level of written and spoken English is required, additional languages a plus.
Impeccable organisation skills – a keen eye for detail.
Willingness and ability to work on a number of simultaneous projects.
The ability to work effectively in a team.
The ability to show initiative and work independently.
People-person committed to a high level of service at all times.
The ability to establish rapport with adults and students.
A pleasant and friendly personality. Open and collaborative.
