Volvo Construction Equipment, a business area within the Volvo Group, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, road development equipment and compact equipment. The Commodity Buyer will lead sub-commoditie(s) for Region Europe including strong co-ordination with other Regions when appropriate. The main focus will be on assortments for driveline components. For this reason, knowledge and/or experience from driveline or components included in driveline will be valuable. (However, subjects/sub-commodities to be finally decided depending on skills and current organization). Such a job requires the ability to lead people indirectly in teams (consisting of buyers / SD s / engineers and other stakeholders), drive the agreed activities with management support and not at least manage suppliers at European level or globally. To a great extent you will be directly involved in many development projects. The major goals will be in line with Volvo CE strategic objectives including specific targets for P&SM such as -12,5% cost reduction - reduction of number of suppliers - increase common suppliers - support Quality targets - and support the reduction of warranty cost - etc. You will be supplier host for "big" suppliers and you will be part of and also drive commodity workshops (either for Region Europe or Global) and work very close with the Technology organization. You will also be supporting the other sub-commodity leaders for Europe and Globally. Responsibilities: . Define the sourcing strategy together with the Commodity team and stakeholders concerned . Implement sourcing strategy for its sub-commodities with support of the Plant Buyers, Supplier Development organization and other stakeholders concerned . Manage the supply base (identification, evaluation, approval and development of strategic suppliers) . Responsible for Supply Management strategy (4-Box) for selected sub-commodities . Drive QDC targets at sub commodity level and track implementation (TCO, Quality, Timing) with support of Plant Buyer, Project Buyer & Supplier Development Engineers. . Negotiate Framework Agreements (FWA), and other commercial contracts etc. . Commercial responsible within OTD for selected sub-commodities . Support Development projects with project agreements (LOI and development contracts) and related commercial topics . Validate sourcing proposals made by Project teams at gate review (compliance with Commodity sourcing strategy) . Support sites according to escalation processes. . Support our Aftermarket organization to recover warranty cost from suppliers . Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviors Required Compentencies . Deep understanding of sourcing strategy process combined with a holistic view on its sub-commodities from a commercial view . Proven experience in sourcing and negotiations for an international group . Have the required technical skills to understand and support the combined P&SM and R&D strategy requirements and expectations. . Has proven capabilities in communication. . Has the ability to take ownership and be the driver for agreed projects and actions . Creative attitude and energetic. Achievement driven . Team Player . Fluent in English . Knowledge and/or experience from drivelines or driveline components area area is preferable
