Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.Scania Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of products and services to all of Scania units worldwide.

General Information

We are looking for a Commodity Lead within the purchasing department Cab & Electronics (SC). You will be responsible for the coordination of purchasing activities across our commodity department. You manage a small team focusing to reaching our sustainability targets as well as other pre-defined targets together with our cross functions.

Foremost we want you to support us in implementing new processes and taking care of initiatives related to our Purchasing Strategy. Giving out manager and purchasers the right pre-conditions to succeed. It will depend a lot on your own initiative, capabilities to cooperate and efforts to succeed.

In this role we offer you a chance to join our Commodity Management Team. We therefore believe that this role will suit you who have the ambition to become a future leader.

Main tasks

In this role, you will be the key person when it comes to gathering information and mapping out how the commodity purchasing organization at SC can succeed with important activities. The coordination work includes:


• Be an integrated partner commodity management team
• Manage the meeting structure of the commodity management team
• Lead and drive change initiatives related to our purchasing strategy
• Lead a small team supporting securing specific and defined targets.
• Monitor our change management process supporting purchaser to be in control of their deadlines.
• Participate in key cross functional decision forums

This opportunity will give you an in-depth understanding of how commodity purchasing run at Scania.

You will be a valued part of the commodity management team where you are expected to be an active member facilitating the cooperation within this team. This is done by assuming responsibility, actively taking on tasks, supporting as well as challenging your colleagues on various topics. In return, you get deep insight into the manager's day-to-day topics, which has proven to be a great learning for individuals who want to explore the leadership path.

Another important area of responsibility is that you are expected to take lead in improvement work. In this position, you will have a unique perspective on the operations based on your pulse meetings with the purchasers together with your active participation in the commodity management team. You are expected to use these perspective to propose and lead improvement work within the organization.

Collaboration and Leadership

Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally at purchasing and cross-functionally. It is therefore of essence that you have the ability to collaborate and

build trust and be clear in your communication with others. A good level of proactiveness and structure is needed in this role. You should have high integrity, good judgment and work according to the Scania leadership principles.
