What´s in it for you
The Cost Engineering Electrical team is a strategic function within Procurement, and it is a team of experts with extensive experience and skills within all different types of components and production methods used by our suppliers for Volvo cars. The department uses state-of-the-art calculation software for calculating the should-cost of part price and tools. Cost Engineering serves to provide Buyer and R&D organization with expert competence regarding fact-based cost analysis on purchased parts and tooling.
Procurement Department is now in search of a new Cost Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Cost Engineering team. We are looking for candidates who have strong skills in leadership, communication and with an open-minded approach. You will have the ability to energize people using an empowered team-oriented approach, and possess a strong initiative and driving ability to make things happen.
The Electrical Cost Engineering Team is working with calculating the cost of most Electronics in a car for instance: Electrical Architecture and Infrastructure, Power Electronics, Autonomous Drive, Telematics, and Infotainment.
You and your skills
You have previous senior leadership experience in Purchasing, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, or R&D. You can demonstrate experience from leading and coaching people and teams through continuous feedback and coaching. You enjoy driving continuous improvement projects with increased capability and/or efficiency. You possess strong business acumen, drive, and ambition.
You pursue both long-term strategic issues and short-term operational issues, which include securing efficient working methods and tools, and the importance of developing the team's skills.
You have also
- A technical university degree or equal relevant working experience and at least 5-10 years of working experience within the area with documented managerial and/or leading experience.
- Knowledge of electronics /wire harnesses from a technical and commercial perspective.
- Experience in cost calculations.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Automotive Experience
- Experience in Product development processes/ Procurement/Sales.
It is an advantage if you also have vehicle experience and experience in product development processes/purchasing/sales.
