We are a part of Epiroc that works as an independent unit developing market leading surface drill rigs.

You will be joining a team of electrical and system designers with a wide span of experience that works closely together developing the next generation electrical system as well as developing the current products and solving problems for our customers. The team members support each other in the wide range of challenges that we face which means you will have the possibility to learn new things every day and share your own knowledge with other team members.


Your mission
A high focus area at Epiroc is development of intelligent machines with a high focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Currently we are expanding our efforts towards electrification and therefore need to strengthen our team within the area of electrical supply and power systems for our drill rigs. You will be working with developing cutting edge electrical technology involving electrical motors, drives and connecting system up to 1000V and will be in the forefront of transforming the business.

The main focus of the work will be to select and develop the components to the electrical power system including traction battery, electrical motors, drives, electrical cabinets, cabling and power control system. This means designing and updating component drawings and specifications, often in cooperation with our suppliers. You will also be a part of the complete power system design process together with the system engineers.

You will work in cross functional projects together with other functions such as production, marketing, aftermarket and of course other R&D engineers. In the projects you will be the expert on the rigs electrical power system. You will also work with product improvement of our present machines, improvement of the design. Developing new technologies in basic development projects will also be a part of the work.

You will be working in close vicinity to the factory which means that there are great opportunities to see the end result of the projects and also to test and evaluate different solutions on actual machines during the projects.


Your profile
To enjoy the work, it is important to have a genuine interest in technology and a desire to learn more about the products you are working with. It is important that you are innovative, willing to take responsibility and have the ability to work independently. Good collaboration skills are essential since work is performed in cross-functional teams. You must have a structured and analytical approach where you combine theory and practice and the ability to deliver results according to the set goals.

You should have a documented academic background within electrics, mechatronics, or other highly qualified engineering background within these areas.

We believe you have some years of professional experience within electrical or mechatronics systems in the industry or automotive business or other highly qualified engineering background within the electrical power systems. You are used to take ideas from an initial concept to serial production, creating technical documentation and verifying technical solutions.

You have good knowledge in selecting and designing components for electrical systems, for example motors, drives, transformers, cabling, fuses and relays etc.Furthermore you have good knowledge of AutoCAD electrical, or similar CAD program, is required since components and schematics are designed in this tool. Experience of PLM systems are qualifying. You should have good command of Swedish and English, verbal and written.
