Core Manufacturing Engineering Assembly Shop is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering VCME, working towards final assembly plants worldwide. We are focusing on strategic work and early concept phase in the car programs, creating prerequisites for quality assured, flexible and effective production systems. We have a global and strategic responsibility for process and system solutions overtime. We are approximately 25 engineers divided into two groups. We want to reinforce our ergonomic capability, and therefore we are looking for a new colleague to existing Ergonomics Specialist.

As Ergonomics Specialist you will work strategically in annual phases and operational within car programs providing expertise in ergonomics. Your responsibility will be mainly towards assembly shops, but also supporting paint- and body shops globally. You will lead and coordinate activities within your area of responsibility as well as continuously strive for commonality within Volvo Car Group's plants. You will lead development and improvements of ergonomics within Manufacturing Engineering. It is important both to lead efficiency work of today as well as understanding implications of future global products and processes. You will work independently, as well as cross-functionally with other functions such as manufacturing engineers, production supervisors and production engineers.

Main responsibilities

* Provide expertise to support process and product development in car programs
* Responsible for ergonomics processes including working procedures and KPI's
* Lead strategic work to achieve optimized ergonomics in future programs
* Perform ergonomic analysis
* Report ergonomic deviations in car programs
* Coordinate and standardize working practices and methods
* Participate in joint projects with universities and research centres
* Support production engineers in financial calculations related to ergonomics
* Provide organisation with training and perform benchmarking activities
* Member of internal Volvo Cars ergonomic network

Required qualifications

* B.Sc. / M.Sc. degree in Engineering with addition of Ergonomics within Product Development, or Physiotherapist with experience from process- and product development
* Good experience from working with ergonomics within process- and product development
* Knowledge about ergonomic tools
* Good overall computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* English in spoken and written
* European Ergonomist certification is meritorious
