Alfa Laval Business Unit Brazed & Fusion Bonded Heat Exchangers is looking for an Innovative Head of R&D

About the job

Alfa Laval is continually investing on product development to ensure we sustain and reinforce our market leadership. Our product road map based on market insight coupled with our innovation capability, ensure our products have a technological edge. Heat exchangers are key components to enable energy efficiency, new environmentally friendly refrigerants, and sustainable/renewable heating and cooling. Knowing we have a real impact on these critical issues is what drives us every day.

In the role as Head of R&D you will be leading an R&D organization of about 35 highly qualified colleagues. You will be responsible for leading the development of new products and maintaining competitiveness of existing products. In cooperation with cross-functional organisations you will work to identify the future needs and evaluate innovation concepts to meet customer needs and create customer values.
 

Key responsibilities include:
* Manage, lead and motivate the R&D organization
* Ensure a balanced project portfolio
* Drive quality focus throughout the organization
* Continuously develop designs to meet market needs and optimize competitiveness
* Actively participate in the Business Unit Management team.

The position is located in Lund. Your direct manager will be the Business Unit President, BFB. The position requires approximately 20-30 days of travelling per year.

You have strong communication skills and are able to drive and handle change. You do this with decisiveness and execution.

What you know

You have a relevant work and educational experience. You show this with a proven track record in innovation management, product development and project management.  Experience from matrix organization with cross functional understanding and collaboration is a strong advantage.
