Arbetsbeskrivning

Antal barn: 2 Var: Centrala Christchurch Om familjen: They are both very busy children who enjoy outdoor activities and life on our 10 acre farmlet. One of Torin's favourite activities is collecting the eggs from the chickens (below). He also loves puzzles, bouncing on the trampoline, throwing balls and frisbees and generally running around. He has a very mischievous sense of humour and loves making people laugh. He knows what he wants and can be a very vocal two-year-old when he doesn't get what he wants!(Can't they all.). Isis is a bit more reserved and sensitive than her brother, though she can be very vocal too!She enjoys crafts and is very creative. She loves colouring in and making things, and anything sparkly or pink (a true girl).Fairies and ballet are two particular favourites - she started ballet two terms ago at kindergarten and is thoroughly enjoying it. We are quite an active family and enjoy skiing, walking, camping, kayaking and cycling (in as much as is possible with kids). We try to go skiing at least a few times every year and have recently started the kids on skis. They have a good circle of local friends and are very confident in going for play dates and sleepovers. They get on well with wider family members, whom we see approximately once a year, either by them visiting us or us travelling to the UK.The children have five cousins in the UK (all girls), and two sets of grandparents, as well as four uncles and aunts. We also use Skype a lot to keep up with family, which could be useful for an au pair (we have a webcam). We are planning to visit the UK from the beginning of July to the end of September 2008, and would not be wanting an au pair to accompany us, unless they particularly wanted to endure the flight with us!We would invite them on other local holidays with us.This is likely to be a chaotic time, hence we are keen for an au pair to start and settle in beforehand. The children are excited about the new addition to the family. As for me, I am a 35 year old Clinical Psychologist who has worked part time off and on since having children.I have worked with both adults and children with mental health problems and currently work with brain injured clients, which I will continue to do for the next couple of months.Gareth is a 39 year old environmental consultant who works four days per week (and looks after the kids for the fifth day whilst I work).Gareth has recently taken up sailing and bought a share in a 28ft yacht, which we will hopefully enjoy over the summer. We both enjoy spending time with friends and have a very close circle of local friends whom we see regularly. Both Gareth and I are English and we moved to NZ 6 years ago for lifestyle reasons. Finally I forgot to mention that when I was 18 I worked as an au pair in Italy for a few months so I have some idea of how the system can work from the au pair's point of view.Hopefully this will make us sympathetic employers
