IES was started in 1993 by Barbara Bergström and is now one of the leading independent schools in Sweden.Our schools offer the highest guality education taught in English in a professional academic environment for motivated students.IES is committed to preparing students for further education.Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet i Gävle is only five minutes walk from the central train station/bus station.We requires highly qualified staff with a strong academic background who are highly motivated teachers, for ALL subject areas in the following Programmes: Social Science - Social Science and Economics Natural Science - Environmental studies and Natural science Now is your chance to work with motivated students in a college like atmosphere with other higly qualified and devoted teachers.Your task will be to create excellent courses, programs and activities for these students within your subject areas and help create a new senior high school together with a supportive school administration and with the backing of a strong and experienced educational company that cares.We are seeking highly qualified individuals who can teach in the following subject areas: Business (accounting, marketing, business law, management) English Social Science, religion, history, geography Psychology and Philosophy Mathematics A-E Science (biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science) Physical Education Swedish French, Spanish, Italian, German We are seeking teachers who love to teach and who have a thorough knowledge of their subject(s).Advanced academic background and (or, practical work experience in relative subject areas are a merit) The language of instruction is English, therefore you must be fluent in English.Your major task will be to develop excellent courses which motivate our students, expand their horizons and prepere them for higher education in Sweden and abroad.Team work is also an essential part of teaching at Internationella Engelska gymnasiet in Gävle.Some courses ar highly integrated with others and require careful planning in cooperation with other teachers.This is also true of many other elements of our school.We also believe in closely following the academic and social development of our students.Every teacher is mentor for a group of students who are met in a group or individually, on a weekly basis.Obviously you enjoy being with students, both in and outside of the classroom, and want to take part in other student activities, school projects and exchanges.Previous teaching experience, especially at high school level or university level is a merit.We expect that you are able to demonstrate good organisational and social skills as well as appropriate IT/internet skills.
