The role, Manager General Cargo, is located within the operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report directly to the Head of Inbound Logistics. The purpose of the General Cargo role is to ensure project based arrangement of transports, such as non-production material. The demands and the pace will be high at the same time offering a unique opportunity to make a professional imprint and great future possibilities for the ambitious and skilled. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main responsibilities
· Lead in set-up of the function, hire, and make team functional operational
· Manage a team responsible for General Cargo transportation control and exception handling
· Arrangements for non-recurring transports e.g. quality rejects, project logistics such as shipment of tools to supplier, transportation of equipment, pre-series parts, material and parts for exhibitions and auto shows etc.
· Selection of the right transport concept and carrier based on the transport requirements and service levels of the internal customers
· Manage the interface between central functions, local plants and contracted logistics parties.
· Implement and apply change management standards and culture
· Secure operational and financial responsibility for transport performance within the function

Required qualifications
· Qualified experience, 5-10 years within operational transportation management
· Knowledge and experience of transportation control and network expediting
· Meritorious with experience from OEM inbound logistics
· Fluent in English

Personal qualities
· Proven leadership skills in operational and international environment
· A great communicator with excellent coordination skills and result oriented
· Service- and business minded
