You will be part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) business unit located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. It is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
We are looking for an engineer with a keen interest in technology who is willing to learn and develop. Various technical areas need to be considered and the willingness and ability to grasp design from various aspects is key to be successful in this role. You will take part in the transition to renewable energy and work with high voltage and high current in complex technical problems.

Your responsibilities
Based on voltage, current and mechanical aspects design HVDC stations. Perform simulations and assessments during tenders and project execution as well as site verifications after construction of the sites.
Investigate technical queries related to Volt, Ampere as well as Newton.
Drive technical developments as well as process related improvements to make the HVDC technology more competitive for the future.
You will join a team of engineers who all are working with the HVDC station design from several different technical aspects and have plenty of opportunities to develop within different technical areas.
Your background
You probably hold a Master of Science degree in an electrical field, applied physics, power systems or similar.
Your personality and interest are of highest importance. You need to have a solid interest in technology and physics in order to be a good fit and at the same time want to combine the interest in technology with time and cost aspects delivering big infrastructure projects.
We look for a positive, problem solving individual with the attitude that everything is possible to do as a team.
