Primary Teacher full-time

The International School of Älmhult has grown rapidly since it opened in 2000 and has a current population of 80 students. Situated in Älmhult in southern Sweden it is a state school with support from Ikea of Sweden for the teacher s professional development. The local area, which has a population of approx. 15 000, is peaceful and situated in an attractive area with nearby lakes and forests. The provincial town of Växjö is easily reached by either rail or road, as are other large cities in the region and the Continent. The school was authorised for The International Baccalaureate s Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school is international and has a friendly atmosphere. The classes are small and all teaching is in English. The position of Primary Teacher (pupils aged 4-6) which is part of the Primary Years Programme is now available for the coming school year, starting in August. The successful applicant will be - A team-player. - Enthusiastic and skilled teacher. - Interested in working according to the IB standards and practices. - Especially interested in the teaching of English to foreign pupils and the teaching of reading.
