Would you like to play a key-role in making the future IKEA products within Kitchen and Dining a reality in our stores?
We are looking for a Product Construction Engineer with responsibility to secure the technical construction and validate product requirements. Our products should meet the safety standards, be able to produce and manufacture in a stable way and also follow the Designer´s and Product Developer´s intention. This since IKEAs mission is to develop outstanding products with the customer and their needs in focus!

In this assignment your main responsibilities will be to:

*Create, refine and optimise the technical construction
*Secure that the construction is done for manufacturing and stable over process variances
*Verify the construction to the physical product requirements during the development phase
*When needed, break down requirements to a lower level where detail construction can be secured in simulation or physical tests (development tests)
*Develop and maintain the digital models on a detailed level
*Calculate material utilization
*Dimension and do structural simulations in computer environment
*Secure that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the product design
*Finalize and maintain drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances

Is this the challenge for you?

We are looking for an Engineer with University degree in Mechanical Engineering, within Product Development or equivalent job related experience. You will be an important cog in the technical team working with Product Development and Product improvement of both new products as well as the running range.

Experience of technical solutions and material characteristics of plastics we consider a big advantage. You should have a very good competence related to3D CAD engineering (Solid Works preferred), and a good understanding of FEM analysis and basic structural dimensioning. Industrial and manufacturing related experience is meriting.

As a person you have the ability to create, anchor and communicate a common point of view for the technical agenda. You are able to take a stand in the important matters but you are also willing to challenge known patterns. You are an analytical problem solver and a good communicator. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
