At ABB Robotics we develop, manufacture and market robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages.
We develop, deliver and automate the production with our robots within the automotive industry, electronics and general industry, such as the logistics, food industry and pharmaceuticals.
In R&D we are focusing on creating the best customer experience from our products and systems. To do this, we combine innovation in mechanics, electronics and software, into world class products. The R&D team is distributed, and our two largest R&D teams are collocated with the production sites which are in China and Sweden.
The Program Manager runs one out of eight programs within our global project organization. This position plays a significant role in delivering new products inline with our portfolio.

Your challenges
Lead a program consisting of several global R&D projects in the control software area that are an integral part in our effort to develop products, systems, services or technologies.
The program you will lead is distributed on several sites and we want you to inspire and lead the teams, as well as enable them to deliver competitive products with superior customer experience.
Work with cross-functional project teams and deliver on the defined program KPIs.
Lead in partnership with business managers, steering groups, platform organization, strategic competence, product management and external parties to ensure value creation.
Manage programs of projects > 50 people R&D program organization.
Deliver project results with a cross functional team and cross multiple sites.

Your background
MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
10+ years R&D development, 5+ years in project and/or line management, successful track record of management of multisite projects.
Ability to optimize current ways of working and structure the program organization to maximize output.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Financial acumen (P&L experience, budget, forecast, resources, etc.)
Being a team player with holistic view, high integrity and the skills needed to manage constantly challenging and changing targets.
