For our client, we are looking for a Software Site Manager to oversee large-scale projects, such as those in data centers. This role will involve managing site operations from preparation through delivery, construction, and testing phases. The Site Manager will represent the Project Manager and hold the authority to coordinate daily operations on-site, ensuring smooth planning, coordination, and safety management. Meeting safety (EHS) and quality standards will be essential to the success of the role.
Job Responsibilities:
Health and Safety: Responsible for initiating, monitoring, and reviewing work procedures on-site, holding toolbox talks, conducting daily risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment.
Site Coordination: Represent the Project Manager on-site, directing daily operations of in-house teams and third-party suppliers, and managing Eaton software implementation.
Resource Management: Identify gaps in resources and help the Project Manager plan to ensure work schedules are adhered to.
Reporting: Provide regular written updates on work performed, issues encountered, and future planning.
Profitability: Ensure resources are used effectively to meet profitability expectations and report any unforeseen gaps or constraints to the Project Manager.
Extra Work: Identify and document extra work requests and inform the Project Manager.
Testing and Auditing: Serve as the testing auditor, ensuring that test practices meet standards.
Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate the on-site service team, ensuring all parties follow procedures to achieve quality, cost, delivery, and safety goals.
Training: Organize and carry out site-related training for various parties.
Problem-Solving: Address any complaints professionally and promptly, involving the wider team where necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Electrical Engineering degree or solid background in system engineering of industrial buildings/facilities.
Experience: 5+ years in similar roles, with experience in power distribution for facilities, industrial software deployment, networking, and building automation configuration/commissioning.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Health and Safety and Quality Management on construction/customer sites.
Solid experience with SCADA, Data Center Infrastructure Management, or EPMS software.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and cabling documents.
Proficient in software configuration, networking, and MS Office/Project.
Data center experience is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and adaptable, with a willingness to learn.
Ability to work with customers effectively.
Fluent in English (local language skills may be required for specific locations).
Flexibility to work on-site for extended periods (6 weeks on-site, 1 week off).
Scope of Responsibilities:
Travel: The role may require extensive travel to various locations across the EMEA region during the build and test phases of projects.
Team Management: You will manage third-party supplier teams, typically comprising 8 or more people, depending on the project.
Key Metrics: EHS metrics, service productivity, effective use of third-party suppliers, margins (cost savings), and profitable growth.
