Overview
We are looking for a driven team player for the role as Sustainability Communications Director. This role is responsible for telling SCA’s sustainability story in a consistent way and ensuring that this reaches and engages key stakeholder groups through developing and producing the Sustainability Report and other key communication tools such as the Hygiene Matters report. The Sustainability Communications Director is responsible for developing sustainability messages for the Group as well as support the product brands with key environmental and social messages and claims.
The Sustainability Communications Director will become a member of the Group Function Sustainability management team as well as the Corporate Brand team which is responsible for the SCA brand and the corporate brand management. The Sustainability Communications Director will be in strong collaboration with SCA’s communications network as well as the Category and Brand teams and report to SVP Group Function Sustainability. This role is preferably located in Stockholm, Sweden but can also be situated at the SCA office in Gothenburg, Sweden. The role requires a willingness to travel to learn the business and to build a strong internal network.
SCA’s head office in the Waterfront Building in Stockholm and includes the group staff functions for Finance, Strategy and Business Development, Legal, Sustainability, Human Resources and Communications, as well as CEO office. Some 130 specialists work in an international environment where business processes are promoted through the global networks in the 60 countries where SCA is represented.



Main accountabilities and responsibilities
Develop and tell SCA’s sustainability story in a consistent way and ensuring that it reaches and engages key stakeholder groups in a creative and consistent manner across communication platforms.

Develops and implements the sustainability communications strategy, plans, guidelines and routines aligned with the group strategic framework and with the group communications strategy
Responsible for the development and production of the Sustainability report and the Hygiene Matters report
Act as a strategic business partner to Business Units and the Global Hygiene Categories to maximize outreach of the SCA sustainability story, including customer and consumer brand sustainability messages and claims.
Responsible for developing sustainability communications and key messages in Group communication materials and tools
Actively participate in the development of sustainability targets, materiality analysis and stakeholder dialogue and support the development, implementation and follow up of sustainability targets and KPIs
Participate in and support sustainability media activities together with Group Media Relations.
Support as a writer to Group Functions Communications (for example for the Annual Report)

Work experience and qualifications requirements
University degree in Communication, Branding, Marketing, Journalism or related field
5-10 years of relevant work experience, including strategic and operational communication ideally in an international environment
Ability to manage people over whom you have no direct authority
Excellent writer and able to deliver creative and contextualized content that can be used across platforms for internal and external audiences
You easily navigate in a matrix organization and use your prior experience from a global workplace
Excellent Swedish and English language skills
