Transport Planner

At Logistics we work with Outbound, Inbound, Customs and Logistics engineering. We are transforming into a global organisation working with Asia Pacific and the Americas region. Our focus for this position at Outbound Logistics is to work with EMEA shipments. In the department, we have functions like Yard management, Forecasting & Planning plus Business IT.

The Team at Transport planning consists of 8 persons with both woman and men. We are working with Road and Ocean transports in a global seamless flow. We will have an exciting autumn and launch new carriers on several markets. We are working with our Aspired Culture, having ground rules and supporting each other. As a Transport Planner you will daily monitor and co-ordinate the vehicle process at Volvo Cars including transports with mainly trucks, ships, trains or any other transport modal. You will stay in daily contact with Carriers, Yards, Hubs, Compounds, National Sales Companies, Customs, Finance, IT systems and Vehicle plants for operational issues (delivery performance, capacity, launches, quality etc.) as well as provide our markets with timely and correct information about their loadings, arrivals and transport documents.

Main responsibilities

* Continuously calculate and analyse the Key Performance Indicators of the Outbound process (delivery, dwell time, edi status reporting, lead time etc.)
* To act in cross-functional teams of people in VCG and Carriers in order to develop and improve the distribution process from a performance, quality, lead time and cost view
* Work with SRM purchase orders for your carriers
* Work with KPI, Key Performance Indicators, for your areas
* Monitor and co-ordinate activities in the Outbound logistics process incl. National Sales Companies, NSC or Importers and take decisions when deviations occur
* Monitor and co-ordinate activities in events like quarter closings, model year's changes, car launches and NSC open door activities
* Monitor and co-ordinate activities together with the Transport Manager set priorities to support the VCG business from a holistic point of view
* Monitor and co-ordinate activities in KPI and Management reports

Required qualifications

* Five years of experience from logistics field. Main competence should be from outbound logistics, distribution and shipping
* Fluent in English, any other language is beneficial
* A bachelor degree within Logistics or a similar education is meritorious
* Experience from Logistics in automotive industry is meritorious
