koncept och vidareutveckla våra befintliga.
Du kommer även att delta i att verifiera och utvärdera utvecklingsidéer och implementera dem i produktionen.

Eka Chemicals is one of the world's leading manufacturers of bleaching and performance chemicals for the pulp and paper industry. Within our specialty chemicals branch you find unique businesses which occupy leading market positions in their area. Separation Products runs a unique product program of silica-based separation products to HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography). The products, marketed under the brand Kromasil, are used for analysis and purification in the production of pharmaceuticals. We are dedicated to our mission to develop outstanding packing materials for HPLC, to improve efficiency and decrease costs in the separation step.

Responsibility
Development Engineer specialized in organic synthetic chemistry

In order to intensify our product development activities at our facilities in Bohus, we are now looking to fill the position of a development engineer with a person who has a strong background in organic chemistry. Some key responsibilities of the holder of this position are:

. Development of entirely new silica based stationary phases modified by organic ligands, modification of existing products and evaluation of these by HPLC
. Explorative work with the objective to prove a concept for a new technology or a product
. Planning and conducting organic syntheses and polymerizations with the objective to develop new separation media
. Trouble shooting
. Verification and validation of processes by means of experimental series based on factorial design
. Planning and conducting scale-up of manufacturing processes in the development projects

In addition, HSE related issues such as conducting risk analyses and safety rounds, writing contributions to trade magazines, scientific symposia and cover patents and publications within a certain field are a part of the position.

Job requirements / Candidate profile
We are looking for a person who has a strong background in organic synthesis, and who has graduated in chemistry or chemical engineering.

Experience and knowledge of polymerization reactions and/or surface chemistry is qualifying as the work is interdisciplinary in its nature. Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GPC and SFC is a merit.

Furthermore, in order to communicate with the organization, but also with external contacts, it is mandatory that the job applicant has excellent English language skills, both orally and in writing.
