Adding your strategic mind and customer centric outlook, we are ready to lead this work, raise the bar higher, and enforce our market leading position.
At our business area segment Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS), we hold an exciting multi-brand portfolio with some of the strongest brands of the metal cutting market. We’re now looking for an experienced, driven, and forward-thinking Head of Communications to join us in an exciting position where you’ll take the responsibility for our corporate and internal communications. Are you ready to embark on an exciting career, where you get to support our ambitious strategy execution by driving user-focused, modern, and inclusive communication in a truly global arena?
As Head of Communications for SMS, you lead a team of experienced and specialized communication professionals, by creating a nurturing environment and setting the direction with a clear strategy for short- and long-term objectives. This includes the whole spectra, from editorial functions, channel management, brand governance, change- and crisis communication, management support and communication training, as well as support to and coordination with the Sandvik Group’s communication and investor relations functions. You’re our go to person in brand strategy matters, and with modern ways of working you make sure that our multi-brand portfolio reaches its broad target groups.
To meet the challenge of balancing a yearly communication plan with timely and accurate communication actions in times of change and other urgent matters, you constantly stay tuned with the organization’s needs and demands. You’re a member of SMS’s management team and take part in the development of our business strategy, ensuring that it’s communicated in a clear and inspirational way.
You’re an important connection towards our communications community, and you lead the SMS Communications’ functional management network – bringing internal and corporate communication leadership from the business area and its divisions together to share information and to accommodate common activities. To ensure alignment with the Group’s common strategy and communication activities, you’re also a member of the Sandvik Group Communication Council and the Brand Council.
You report to the President of Sandvik Machining Solutions. The location for this role is preferably Stockholm, Sweden, but other locations can also be considered for the right candidate. Global travel is a natural part of the job.
We’re looking for someone with an academic background within communication and – more importantly – an extensive working career within this field, which has given you high confidence in your role. You have a successful history of coaching people in an international setting, as well as of working with management teams. You also have solid experience from leading communication projects and events, and a profound knowledge of communication planning, strategy, branding and change communication. As we act globally, you need excellent English skills, both verbally and in writing.
Your personality truly makes the difference! With a great business acumen, you easily build trust and utilize you networking skills to establish excellent stakeholder management. You’re curious and humble enough to ask questions to gain a wider comprehension for the complexity and technical details of our operations, in order to break it down into adequate communication actions. With a strategic and holistic view, you respond timely on business requirements and act on both urgent, short-term and long-term objectives.
At Sandvik, we offer a global arena of brilliant minds, and we’re technology driven, innovative, entrepreneurial and inclusive! Success is a team effort, and we believe that diversity inspires, so we invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our differences.
