Senior Lecturer

Context of position
Innovation and Product Realization (IPR) is one of six prioritized research and education profiles at Mälardalens Högskola. One expanding area of research and education within IPR is Process and Product Development with 4 professors, 2 senior lecturers, 1 post doc and 13 PhD students. Within this area, Sustainable production is of growing concern, and with a view to expand the area we have commenced the search for a senior researcher and lecturer at the associate professor level. Additional recruitments on post doc and PhD student level are initiated.
Our current research within process and product development is rapidly expanding and includes production system design, production location, performance management, maintenance strategies, lean automation and an expanding area of design and management of green and lean production systems . The group is an active part in the strategic initiative for Excellence in Production Research, XPRES, a joint initiative between KTH, MDH and Swerea.
MDH coordinates one of three focus areas within XPRES: Life cycle considerations on product realization. The available position concerns this focus area and the development of methods and tools for enabling and improving long term resource productivity.
The overall mission of the position is to contribute to the development of the scientific excellence at the research group within production systems at MDH and participate in the renewal of the education curricula of Process and Product development. The position is defined in line with the XPRES initiative and in close collaboration with KTH and Swerea.
The position is a full time or part time faculty position as senior lecturer at the division of Production, Design and Logistics at the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering (IDT) within Mälardalens Högskola (MDH). The profile of the position is planned for 50-75% in research and graduate education within XPRES and related projects, and 25-50% in undergraduate education within Production, Design and Logistics.
Qualifications
To be eligible for appointment as a senior lecturer, an applicant must have a PhD or corresponding academic qualifications, have undergone training in teaching and learning in higher education, and must also have demonstrated teaching skills.
Those who are to be appointed to senior lectureships must have the teaching proficiency required for the post and also, unless there exist special grounds for exception, have undergone 10 weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education. When teaching proficiency is assessed, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching is taken into account as well as examining and supervision. Documentary corroboration of teaching skills is required so that their quality can be assessed.
Those who do not fulfill the qualification requirements with regard to training in teaching and learning in higher education and do not have corresponding knowledge will be appointed for one year with the possibility of extension by one more year. If the qualification is acquired during this period of employment, the post can then be converted into a tenured appointment until further notice, on the senior lecturer s request.
